Learn how to cook this quick pan seared chicken breast recipe. I especially love that it is a quick recipe that incorporates the oven. It keeps your chicken breasts moist, juicy and flavorful – cause who wants dry chicken breasts?!
This Pan Seared Chicken breast recipe is a a quick one done in under 20 minutes. I was not a fan of chicken breasts in the past – likely because I has only tried “dry” chicken breasts. Since incorporating this recipe, I am now a believer! This has fast become a family favorite. Being a healthy chicken recipe also adds more to the appeal of chicken breasts in meals.
HOW TO MAKE PAN SEARED CHICKEN BREASTS
PREP YOUR CHICKEN BREASTS
If you are starting with frozen chicken breasts, make sure you have thawed them by getting them out of the freezer at least 5 hours before hand. Pat your chicken breasts dry to remove as much surface moisture as possible, then rub Olive Oil lightly and sparingly all over each breast. This helps the seasonings to adhere better to the chicken.
Now will also be a good time to start preheating your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
TIME TO SEASON YOUR CHICKEN BREASTS
We already know my favorite seasonings is the soulful Old Bay Seasoning. My latest addiction, however is the Complete Seasoning mix. I use this so much that I keep it in a large size , partly because I am always giving my guests a bit in a ziplock bag to go and try at home! This reminds me of Italian style herb mixes with garlic, oregano, black pepper, salt, basil and much more. Try this and let me know if you are not a believer also! The burst of flavors are so happy in your mouth – especially when used on poultry, beef, pork, fish, or shrimp. Check out my Pan Seared Tilapia recipe with similar seasonings.
Now on to how to season chicken breasts with Old Bay Seasoning, fresh ground black pepper and Complete Seasoning. Note that Old Bay and Complete Seasonings have salt in them already, so please use modestly. You could also layer each on either side of the chicken. Either way, you get an easy and flavorful chicken breast meal.
SEAR YOU CHICKEN BREASTS IN OLIVE OIL
Here is why we call it a pan seared chicken recipe! Heat some olive oil up in your pan on medium-high heat. I love to use Olive Oil to sear my meats because it is a relatively healthier oil option over the other available types of oils. Read more about why Olive Oil is a healthier option.
Sear for chicken breasts on medium high heat for about about 3 minutes on each side. We are looking for a golden brown color on each side. Searing on relatively high heat helps us seal in the moisture before we pop the chicken into the oven.
TRANSFER CHICKEN INTO THE OVEN
Now transfer your chicken into the oven to finish off for about 10 minutes.
VOILA!
This quick chicken breast recipe for kids and adults is always a family hit. Please let me know how you fare! Toodles!
